Zero Waste – This talk was given by Timi Konya, who is the joint coordinator of the Facebook group Zero Waste Ireland
Food Waste – This talk was given by given by Lorraine Bull of VOICE. VOICE is a member-based Irish environmental charity that empowers individuals and local communities to take positive action to conserve our natural resources.
EcoThift – This talk was given by Sinead Finegan who manages the Clarion Call for Climate Change Facebook page.
Eco Babies – Cecilia Ramondetta gave this talk about reducing the waste associated with having babies and toddlers.
Workshops & Exhibition:
Artist Dave Newton came along and ran two amazing workshops to accompany some pieces from an art exhibition coincidentally entitled ‘Waste Not Want Not’, which is curated by Thomas Brezing. One involved making sculptures from discarded objects and the other was a postcard making workshop, using collage to create unique art pieces to send to friends.
Sunflower Recycling , a Dublin 1 community recycling scheme, gave a really interesting workshop/demonstration of furniture upcycling, focusing on decoupage.
ReCreate also ran an art workshop using materials diverted from landfill. ReCreate is a national social enterprise that takes end of line and surplus stock from businesses and reuses them as arts materials.

Recycle IT – Community Electrical Recycling – Recycle IT an award winning social enterprise offers electrical and electronic recycling services across Dublin and the surrounding areas. The organisation provides the only free scheduled door to door residential collection service in the city. Additional services include free collections for community groups, schools and charities, free drop off services and a cost effective personal and business recycling collection services. Any items which uses and plug or battery can be recycled with Recycle IT (home or work). FreeTrade Ireland – freetradeireland.ie is a free online reuse service which allows its users to pass on unwanted items for free, from beds and furniture to electronic goods and garden equipment and more.
